Legislative Committee & Agenda
WCPA recently created a new Legislative
Committee and four Legislative Sub-Committees
during its Legislative Rally with the goal of
empowering industry leaders with direct input
and participation in legislative and government
affairs related activities. The Legislative Committee
is composed of two WCPA Board Members and two
Co-Chairs from each of the four Sub-Committees
including: ACCP/Fertilizer Tonnage Fees Sub-Committee,
Nutrient Management Policy Sub-Committee, On-Farm
Bulk Storage Sub-Committee, and the Sub-Standard
Dealer Sub-Committee.
WCPA also recently conducted a membership-wide
survey to establish a member-driven legislative
agenda. The survey asked important questions regarding
what legislative and government affairs related
issues are important to them and what priority
we should be placing on each area of consideration.
The result was the development of our first formalized
legislative agenda with ten areas of concentration.
Results of the survey process are found inside
WCPA’s Legislative Committee and Sub-Committees
examined the survey results and resulting legislative
agenda to identify the top four issues that we
should be focusing on as an industry. Please read
the results of the Legislative Rally, Legislative
Committee Process and our Legislative Agenda Development
results.
It is important that as many WCPA members as
possible participate in our legislative and government
affairs activities. If you are not currently,
please contact the WCPA office and get involved.
Our success depends on the extent to which our
industry representatives embrace and take ownership
of these important activities. |
